The Adventures of Periwinkle and Stinky

 

Periwinkle sits at the table at her boyfriend Stinky's house to write a letter to her Mom and her fursib, Raz.  Periwinkle has been staying with Mom Janet and Dad Tom and the Kitties Blue to help with the search for Stinky/Sawyer.

She looks at the framed photo of herself and Stinky and has to wipe a tear away.  She misses him so much and sure wishes they could be together celebrating his return.  

Slowly she starts typing her letter to her Mom and brofur Raz.

Dear Mom and Raz,

Thank you for letting me stay here with Kitties Blue and Mom Janet and Dad Tom.  We are working so hard to help Stinky/Sawyer find his way home or let us find him and bring him home.  Every day we get up early so Mom Janet can call him before the noises of the day start.  We put out flyers, knock on doors, visit dumpsters.  So far, no sign of him.  We are a little discouraged but refuse to give up on him.  We all love that boy so much and want him home.  Every night I gather with the family and we say the prayer for a missing cat.

“Father, we ask you to help us find our dear pet who is now lost. We know that you placed animals on the earth for many reasons, including companionship for man. We therefore ask you to help us find our lost companion and pray that You will keep him safe and protect him from harm until he is found.”

We hope our prayers are answered soon.  I know you and Raz are saying the prayer too.

When we are not actively searching for Stinky/Sawyer we try to get some rest.  I hang out with Kizmet because I know she and Stinky/Sawyer were good buddies and she misses him.

Well, I need to go now.  I miss you both and love you.  Thanks for letting me help find Stinky/Sawyer.  I want him home NOW!!

Periwinkle picks up the photo of her and Stinky and gives it a paw pat and a whisker kiss.   She sobs softly and purrs as hard as she can hoping Stinky hears her and follows her purr home.

Welcome to Sparks. Many years ago, it was my intent to post an inspirational thought each Monday. It would be my weekly meditation, and perhaps feed other people's spirit as well. Life got busy, and this fell by the wayside. Now, I feel a strong need to bring this feature back. 
The negative energy in the world has become thick and oppressive. Social media has become a part of this dark, negative storm. There is an obvious universal need for more positive energy and peace. And, we can all be part of this affirmative change. 
I believe we are meant to be lights in this world. If we allow our light to shine, we can see where we are going. It is then that we can begin to truly see each other clearly. Together, we can light up the entire world!

We think this Spark is important to share today because we're still purring and praying that our pal Sawyer will come home and be okay.  We won't give up on him.

URGENT ALERT!  Sunday Selfies are cancelled.
