Friday Fun

As much as Flat Raz loved traveling to Sedona with Mom and Dad, all good things come to an end.  Flat Raz (and Mom and Dad) went all out on the last day of the trip.  

The last night in Sedona, they went to a cute place called the Hideaway House - another place with fantastic views!  They had a yummy dinner of stuffed meatloaf and, of course, there was wine....

and, after dinner, dessert!   When Flat Raz saw the dessert menu he knew what he wanted right away.....

In honor of our pal Sammy, we ordered it!!

 Ut oh...........looks like all that wine and dessert did it again.....

The next day we said goodbye to our friends at the Cozy Cactus and headed to Phoenix where we would spend the night since our flight was 6:30 am!

After checking in and returning the rental car, Mom and Dad and Flat Raz went to have dinner at the hotel.  The restaurant was not open yet so they went to the bar to wait for dinner.  

After dinner, Dad and Flat Raz shared another yummy dessert!

The next morning we hopped on our plane to return home.   We had a blast in Sedona but we were happy to be home!

We hope you enjoyed seeing Flat Raz and Mom and Dad in Arizona.   We are looking into some help for Flat Raz since he really overdid it on the trip.

Our recipe today is from a favorite Italian cookbook of Mom's

We're making Spaghetti alla Carbonara Olga 

2 small white onions, chopped

4 T butter

1/2 cup dry white wine 

5 slices of BACON, chopped

3 eggs, beaten

2 T Chopped parsley

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Liberal amount of milled black pepper

1 pound spaghetti

Saute onions in butter until soft.  Stir in wind and add bacon; cook until wine evaporates.  In a large bowl put beaten eggs, parsley, cheese and black pepper; beat.   Cook spaghetti al dente; drain.  Fork spaghetti from pot into bowl, toss and garnish with onions and bacon.  Serves 4-6

Thankful Thursday

I want to thank everyone who came to my birthday party and to everyone who left wonderful, compassionate comments  for us about Angel Cubby.  Mom's having a really hard time with his leaving and the love of the Cat Blogosphere helps to ease the pain.  Ellie, Allie and I are doing our best to help Mom through this.  We all miss Cubby a lot too.  Mom says the house is way too quiet now.

I'm also thankful that I got to try something special on my birthday - BACON!  I've heard that it's wonderful and my pal Sammy has bacon every Saturday.  I FINALLY got to try it for myself!!!
